As for Medium, yes, the vast majority of work does take that form. Not all of it, though, needs to be short and sweet or have an easy takeaway. I've managed a couple of pieces that were critical (and were well-received), and I've got a few more in the hopper.

I suspect you'll find that most people do not use Buddhist terminology. It's not clear if that's because they haven't studied the dharma or don't find that Buddhist language resonates with readers. There's a lot of talk of meditation and mindfulness, but not a lot of discussion of specific sutras or principles like the 4 Noble Truths or 8-Fold Path.
