Was I Just “Love & Light Bombed”?

A spiritual friend I barely knew claimed to love me.

We hadn’t spoken more than a few times when s/he declared, “I just love you. You are such a light. I feel so connected to you.”¹

I bristled. I had spoken with this person a handful of times, and while I enjoyed our interactions, a declaration of love felt premature.
